What Clients are Saying

Working with Sara, especially using Internal Family Systems methods, has helped me feel more integrated, balanced, and connected. Processing trauma with her approach has calmed my nervous system, encouraged me to be more accepting of myself and others, and ultimately eased my misophonia. It’s a relief to live with less anxiety and more curiosity. (9 months)

Sara became a guiding light and source of support for my family during the COVID pandemic when both of my children first started showing signs of misophonia. Through our consultation work together, she taught my kids, my spouse and I to listen to and take care of our individual nervous systems.  Ultimately, the lessons she imparted increased our ability to reconnect to ourselves, and with one another in a meaningful way rather than letting the misophonia continue to tear our family apart. Sara has been invaluable to our family. Finding a therapist who understands and is so knowledgeable about Misophonia was a game changer for our son. My son met with two previous therapists before we found Sara. He would sit in silence saying nothing. The first time he met Sara it was like he knew he was speaking to someone who truly understood what he was going through. I had never seen him so talkative during a therapy session. She has made such a difference for our family. (multiple years)

My path with misophonia began as a post-traumatic brain injury diagnosis at age 51, and I also have tinnitus & hyperacusis; of the three... my "miso" life has proven to be the most challenging.  Sara's Somatic Experience, & "parts" sessions have brought immense hope and healing along with a sense of agency over my nervous system that I wondered if I'd ever have again. While I'm not done yet, I am so grateful for Sara's empathetic style, compassion, and expertise ... it truly has been life-changing. (multiple years)

I gained more from this first one session with you than the past three years of psychotherapy with other providers! (following the first session)

Thank you, Sara! Keep doing your amazing trail blazing for us miso’s!! (Workshop Attendee)

Sara's insights and expertise helped me recognize misophonia and my reactions to it. We were able to take misophonia out of the driver's seat by observing and normalizing the anger, shame, and guilt that comes with it. I felt incredibly seen, and my relationship with misophonia went from excruciating to entirely manageable. (6 sessions)

Understanding the biological mechanism behind the misophonia response has helped me reduce the shame and confusion I feel when I experience “fight or flight” from hearing others chew. Using exercises such as “completing the defensive response cycle” has been incredibly helpful in releasing some of the panic and anger I feel when I am triggered. Sara’s understanding, kind, and strategic approach has helped me both cope in the moment and dig deeper into why I may be experiencing misophonia in the first place. (4 sessions)

Sara's understanding of the brain, physiological responses, and specifically misophonia has allowed me to better understand my stress response and ensure I am taking the proper steps to take care of myself physically, mentally, and spiritually to minimize misophonia’s presence in my life. (one year)

Misophonia affects the entire family. Sara’s take on misophonia as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and systemic thinker has been very helpful. I'm so grateful we found her. (8 months)

You are a UNICORN in this (misophonia) community, and I continue to feel so incredibly grateful that we found you! (6 months)

I was skeptical someone could offer me anything of value when it comes to this perplexing issue and you just made everything about how misophonia shows up in my life make sense in one session! I’m blown away! (following the first session)

Sara, you doing a great job of modeling the importance of acceptance, patience, and empathy - and how much that benefits the misophonia sufferer.  You are using analogies really nicely.  You are providing very accessible and natural ideas for a sense of well being and relief.  You are comforting and offer a strong sense of hope…as well as an example of great success yourself. You are quite insightful and delightful.  Thank you! (Workshop Attendee)
